Jodi leads strategic communications at EdInsights to help ensure that our policy research, evaluations, and capacity building initiatives can influence and improve policy and practice in K-12 and higher education. Jodi endeavors to ensure that this work is accessible and relevant to state policymakers and their staff; postsecondary system and institutional leaders; K-12 school, district, and county office leaders; and all who can use it to improve student success. She has research experience in K-12 and postsecondary policy, most recently completing studies related to college and career readiness, student transfer, and collaborative partnerships in education.
Jodi is also co-director of the California Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP), a professional development program that accepts Fellows from K-12 and higher education, and education research and advocacy organizations. EPFP focuses on building policy knowledge and leadership skills of Fellows, as well as enabling on-going networking.
Jodi brings experience in journalism and public affairs to her work in education policy. She holds a master’s degree in Public Policy & Administration (with a certificate in Collaborative Governance) from California State University, Sacramento and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English from Mount St. Mary's University.
