Sukai Kato-Hopkins

Research Associate

Sukai (pronounced “sky”) is a research associate at EdInsights working on projects related to community colleges and evaluating initiatives to improve the community college experience for students and practitioners. Her experience in higher education includes institutional research, student affairs, and admissions. Sukai’s past research has focused on qualitative analyses of multiracial identity development in higher education and how institutions can better capture and support students’ ever-changing identities. Originally from the Japanese countryside, she has recently been going down online rabbit-holes regarding research on rural higher education. Sukai holds an M.A. in Higher Education & Organizational Change, as well as a B.A. in Applied Linguistics with minors in Cognitive Science and Education Studies from UCLA.
