Rebeca G. Ayala
Pathways Fellow
Rebeca G. Ayala (she/her/ella) is a current graduate student at California State University, Sacramento studying higher education leadership and policy studies. She received her bachelor’s in sociology from the University of California, Davis in June 2021 and her associate’s for transfer in sociology from Sierra College in May 2019. Rebeca is the first in her family to ever go to college and aims to reach for the highest degree possible. Her research focus stems around immigration, community college and transfers, feminism, Latine/x, biculturalism, equity, leadership, and imposter syndrome. She has extensive work experience within finance such as a Bank Teller, Public Assistance Specialist, and Administrative Finance Assistant but has recently dedicated herself to student services such as the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and Disability Services and Programs for Students (DSPS). Some of her personal interests include reading, activism, volunteer work, discovering new coffee shops and spending time with her seven cats!
