Humberto Lievanos
Pathways Fellow
Humberto Lievanos is a part of EdInsights for the Summer of 2025 as part of the Pathways Fellowship Program. His job will be to assist the research team in any capacity they need, under the supervision of the Research Associates. Humberto recently graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a bachelor’s in sociology, and will begin his master’s program, also at Sacramento State, in the Fall. As a first-generation Chicano college student, Humberto’s various research interests include understanding the family dichotomy and the inherent gender norms and sexism in Latinx households and being interested in the stigma behind special education and mental health in Latinx families. With past, present and future research experience under his belt, he hopes to shed some light in his community and bring more awareness to mental health and how the family structure and upbringing of a person can negatively be negatively impacted by the current cultural norms in society.
