We conduct policy research.

EdInsights creates bodies of knowledge on key issues relevant to student success. Our qualitative and quantitative research is enriched by a deep understanding of relevant context, including student perspectives.

Our projects focus on issues such as:

POSTSECONDARY STUDENT SUCCESS: We are researching ways to support student progress through the education pipeline—from K-12 schools, into and through community colleges and universities, and into the workforce—including studies to understand the use of data in the state’s higher education systems and to explore students’ perspectives on barriers to progress and completion in the California State University. This work is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS: We are studying the expectations of state policy leaders about ways that students should be prepared for college and career, and the types of efforts that high school district leaders are making to prepare students in the context of the Common Core State Standards. This work is funded by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation through the California Education Policy Fund.
